Initial Oral Examination

Your initial oral examination is a time for you to meet the staff, specifically the doctors. It is a chance for you to discuss your overall needs and wants when it comes to your oral health. The initial oral exam includes a visual examination, charting, periodontal probing, diagnosis and treatment recommendations. We will also take x-rays, which includes the panoramic x-ray for proper diagnosis of the anterior (front) and posterior (back) teeth as well as the bite-wing x-ray series for proper diagnosis of proximal decay of posterior teeth.

Custom Temporary Fabrication

In specific cases discussed both with doctor and patient, custom long term fabrication now offers a temporary stage that is appropriate to wear for longer period of time. This is usually done with digital scanning to ensure accuracy and a more comfortable patient experience.

Technology We Use

Digital Scanning For Restorations

In many cases traditional impressions are no longer necessary. By using digital scanning for impressions, we are now able to digitally scan making crowns, bridges, and implant crowns. By using this CAD/CAM technology, it affords more precise impressions with a faster and cleaner turn around. Ask us next time you're in!

Diagnodent

Diagnodent aids in the detection of caries on the occlusal surface (biting surface) of a tooth. Diagnodent uses laser technology to detect and quantify hidden or sub-surface caries by measuring laser fluorescence within the tooth structure. Even very small lesions are detected at the earliest stage, enabling the doctors to protect and preserve the tooth substance. The diagnodent laser caries detection aid removes the doubt from treatment decisions regarding hidden caries or questionable stained grooves. The device’s ability to see into occlusal pits and fissures enables the doctors to treat sub-surface caries lesions with confidence.

Logicon

Logicon is a software system for early detection that helps the doctor discover cavities  via X-ray radiographs.

How does it work? Through this system, doctors can identify cavities that are hard to see (whether they are between teeth or at the early stages of decay). Logicon analyzes and highlights abnormalities within the patient’s mouth that signals the need for future treatment. The doctors look at each radiograph through the Logicon program if they believe it is necessary for early detection. Please allow 7-10 days after your appointment for the doctor to fully review your Logicon analysis.

Why do we use it? Logicon is the most accurate detection system to date! It has been proven that Logicon detects 20% more cavities than the naked eye. For the doctors, it is the best aide for early detection and treatment.

How does it help you? We are all about prevention! By using Logicon we are seeing cavities at their beginning stages of decay. When small cavities are caught, we can easily clean the decay with minor discomfort.

If decay is left unseen, larger problems can arise. When cavities are not taken care of, there is possibility of a root canal or tooth loss. We want to catch decay at the earliest stages saving you time and money!
